Privacy Policy
This site collects what you type into its forms, which means the inquiry form and, if you become a client, the onboarding form. Everything below explains what happens to it.

Who This Covers
This policy covers this website and is operated by SMM By Elizabeth, a social media management practice based in Austin, Texas. Work carried out for clients under a signed services agreement is governed by that agreement. This page does not apply to it.
What Is Collected
Only what you choose to send through the contact form: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number, and anything you write in the optional message field.
There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up and no tracking of what you read on this site.
Why
Your details are used to reply to you and to arrange a call, and for nothing else. Your details are not used to build a marketing list, and they are not sold, rented or traded under any circumstances.
Where It Is Stored
Inquiries. Submissions from the inquiry form are received and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site, and a copy is emailed to me.
Client onboarding. If you become a client, the details you give me on the onboarding form are also copied into a private spreadsheet held in Google Workspace, so that I can work from them. The copy is made automatically on submission. Nobody but me has access to that spreadsheet.
Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. Stripe receives your name, email, billing address and card details and holds the record of the payment. I never see or hold your card number. I see only the amount, the date and the name on the account.
Netlify, Google and Stripe are United States companies and process the data on servers in the United States. If you are contacting me from outside the United States, your details are transferred there.
Cookies and Third Parties
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no tracking pixels.
Two third parties are involved in simply loading the page. Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. Netlify also screens form submissions for spam using Akismet.
Paying happens on a page hosted by Stripe instead of on this site, and Stripe sets its own cookies there, including ones used to detect fraud. Stripe's own privacy notice covers that page.
How Long It Is Kept
Inquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Inquiries that become client work are kept for as long as the engagement runs and for seven years after it ends, which is the period business and tax records are normally retained for.
Your Choices
You can ask at any time for a copy of what is held about you, for a correction, or for it to be deleted. Deletion requests are acted on within thirty days and I will confirm when it is done. There is no cost and you do not have to give a reason.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights your law gives you over access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability are honored on request, whether or not that law applies to a practice of this size.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so nothing here is a guarantee against every possible failure.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not directed at anyone under eighteen. If you believe a child has sent details through this site, contact me and I will delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. There is no archive of earlier versions.
